General Motors is recalling 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray cars equipped with optional Competition Sport seats

Vehicles are being called back to replace the passenger-seat airbag, the automaker said in a statement on June 16.

"An unbelted child and door trim may block the passenger-seat side airbag vent in a deployment," GM said in a statement.

Those who own affected vehicles are advised to not allow small children in the front seat until repairs have been made, according to the automaker.

GM said is currently not unaware of any crashes or injuries linked to the issue yet.

"I do not have customer letter mailing information yet," GM spokesman Alan Adler said to Edmunds.

Chevrolet dealers have been told to replace the current airbag with a redesigned version.

All repairs will be made free of charge.

Approximately 712 vehicles are affected by the recall.
