Smart Ring Buzzes When You Get an Important Call (VIDEO)

Ringly is the latest wearable accessory to connect to your phone. The smart ring can buzz and light up whenever you get a call or text that might otherwise go unheard while hidden in a purse or pocket, TechCrunch reported.

Running on a battery that will go for two or three days on a single charge, Ringly connects with an app available for both iOS and Android.

The rings, which start at $145 and will begin shipping this fall, are also completely customizable when it comes to alerts. Particular callers, social media apps and any other phone notifications can be turned on or off as needed.

"A lot of moms will say, if the babysitter calls, that's the only person getting through on date night," said co-founder Logan Munro, as quoted by Wired.

The line of finger jewelry comes from CEO Christina Mercando, who started the company last August and raised about $1 million from First Round Capital, Andreessen Horowitz and PCH. Along with Munro, Mercando hopes to raise $60,000 in cash in a pre-sale launch on Tuesday, according to TechCrunch.

"I'm always missing calls and texts, and it started to get really frustrating to have to keep my phone out on the table at restaurants and in meetings," said Mercando, as quoted by Wired. "I thought there just has to be a better way."

The initial lineup of rings features four different stones and sizes 6, 7 and 8, according to TechCrunch.

The jewelry is intended to reduce anxiety related to constantly being connected, according to Mercando.

"It's helping people not worry so much about their technology and not have so much anxiety around it," she told Wired.
