General Motors has announced another set of recalls, comprising four separate issues in a total of 89,126 vehicles, Edmunds.com reported.
Of the recalls, three involve airbag problems, bringing to mind the recent 2.6 million-vehicle small car recall after faulty ignition switches turned cars off while driving and stopped airbags from properly deploying.
The largest recall in this recent set includes 57,512 2014 Chevrolet Silverado LD, 2014 GMC Sierra LD, 2015 Silverado HD, Tahoe and Suburban and 2015 GMC Sierra HD, Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles.
"The base radio may not work, preventing audible warnings if the key is in the ignition when the driver's door is open," GM said in a Friday statement quoted by Edmunds. "Nor would there be an audible chime if a front seatbelt is not buckled.
"If they had this condition, the trucks would be out of compliance with motor vehicle safety standards covering theft protection, rollaway protection and occupant crash protection."
The automaker has not received reports of any crashes or injuries connected with the issue. The recall will involve dealers reprogramming the radio control module.
In another recall, GM is expanding a 7,116-vehicle recall to 31,520 2012 Buick Verano and Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic cars in the U.S. The affected vehicles can have problems where "the shorting bar inside the dual-stage driver's airbag may occasionally contact the airbag terminals," according to Edmunds.
"GM is aware of one crash with an injury where the relevant diagnostic trouble code was found at the time the vehicle was repaired," said the automaker, as quoted by Edmunds. "The company is aware of other crashes where the airbags did not deploy, but it is not known if they were related to this condition."
The other recalls in Friday's announcement have not been connected with crashes or injuries.
GM is additionally recalling 61 2013-'14 Chevrolet Spark and 2013 Buick Encore cars manufactured in Changwon, Korea, from December 2012 to May 2013. The vehicles can have issues where the passenger airbags don't deploy in the event of a crash. GM hasn't specified how the vehicles will be repaired.
Thirty-three 2014 Chevrolet Corvettes are also being recalled for airbag problems. Dealers will replace the sensing and diagnostic modules in the vehicles.
GM has recalled 15.9 million vehicles worldwide in 34 separate recalls, 13.8 million of which were in the U.S.
