Porsche Cars North America said this week that faulty brake units are not on any 2015 Porsche Macan compact crossovers sold in the U.S. and there is no recall, according to the automaker. 

"No U.S. vehicles are affected and there is no recall here," said Nick Twork, a Porsche Cars North America spokesman, according to Edmunds.

The company said on May 28 it is currently inspecting some 2,500 Macans to check for faulty brakes after quality tests revealed that some brake booster units might have been damaged during assembly, according to Edmunds.

The 2015 Macan reached U.S. dealerships this spring after initially debuting at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Twork said there is no need for U.S. consumers to worry, and that they should instead be enjoying their new Macan vehicles.

 "They should proceed with enjoying their vehicles," said Twork, when asked what advice he'd give owners of the new Macan.

The automaker said that despite the issue, vehicles with the damaged units still comply with legal requirements, according to Reuters.

Porsche said it expects sales to increase to more than 200,000 vehicles in 2015, an increase from 162,000 in 2013.
