Apple has supposedly chosen Taiwanese LCD manufacturer Innolux to supply 4.7-inch displays for its next iPhone, according to Taiwanese newspaper UDN.

If the rumor is true, Innoluz would then join Japan Display Corporation and LG Display as the suppliers of the 4.7-inch screens for Apple's next iPhone device.

The next iPhone device is believed to be called the iPhone 6, though Apple has yet to confirm anything about its next smartphone yet.

Innolux likely benefited from Apple's reluctance to expand its reliance on South Korean conglomerate Samsung, according to AppleInsider.com.

The two companies are competing more in the courtroom lately than for phone sales over a number of patent disputes, despite the fact that Samsung provides a number of important parts for Apple.

The Galaxy maker supplies the fabricator of the A-series processors found inside the iPad and iPhone devices.

Apple is expected to debut two iPhone devices this year:  4.7-inch and 5.5-inch devices, which could have different names.

The iPhone 6 is expected to have a faster A8 processor, a thinner profile, bezel-free design, camera upgrades, and a more durable, sapphire screen. 

It will likely come with Near Field Communication technology as well, according to MacRumors.com.

A new operating system that the next iPhone will likely use is expected to debut at the 2014 WWDC this June.
