Apple will unveil its next iPhone device in August this year, a month earlier than industry experts were expecting, Taiwanese media reported this week, citing unidentified supply-chain sources.

A 4.7-inch version of the iPhone 6 will hit stores in August, according to the Economic Daily News.

The report failed to specify which markets would receive the new device first.

In September a 5.5-inch to 5.6-inch device will be released by Apple, according to the newspaper.
In all, 80 million iPhone 6 handsets will be produced in 2014.

Industry watchers have said increasing the iPhone's screen size from 4 inches would help Apple regain market share from competitors like Samsung Electronics, who they say have responded to consumer's longing for more screen size.

Taiwanese iPhone contract manufacturer Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd and smartphone camera lens maker Largan Precision Co Ltd, both had no comment when asked by the Economic Daily News.

Apple has not commented yet publically regarding the release dates.

Other rumored specifications include: bezel-free design, an advanced A8 processor, a camera with optical image stabilization, a more durable, sapphire screen.

A new operating system that the next iPhone will likely use is expected to debut at the 2014 WWDC this June.

Analyst believe Apple shares could rise over 20 percent during the next year or so, thanks to expected sales of a new iPhone, according to an article in the March 24 edition of Barron's.
