Godzilla Co-Stars With 2014 Fiat 500 in New Commercial (VIDEO)

Fiat USA has debuted a new advertising campaign this week starring the 2014 Fiat 500 and Godzilla.

In the commercial, Godzilla can be seen trying to eat the new Fiat vehicle, though it turns out to be too big for the legendary creature.

The Fiat commercial ties with the release of the new Godzilla movie, set to hit theaters on May 16.

"As one of the year's most-anticipated films prepares to hit movie screens, we want to think big like the Fiat 500L, and what's bigger than Godzilla," said Olivier Francois, Chrysler chief marketing officer, in a statement this week.

Godzilla fans can also look forward to new movie-themed promotions in support of the highly anticipated movie.

Starting on May 9, the "Fiat Godzilla Giveaway" challenges Fiat and Godzilla fanatics to prove their fandom by inviting their Facebook friends to "like" Fiat USA on Facebook.

After liking the Fiat Facebook page, users can visit the "FIAT Godzilla Giveaway" tab, where throughout the course of the promotion, movie passes and concessions will be given away during daily sweepstakes.

A point system will be used by the automaker to determine the grand-prize winner, according to Fiat.

The grand prize winner will win 10 movie passes, $150 for concessions and a number of Godzilla-themed merchandise.

"There's no escaping that whether appetites run for a sporty Fiat 500C, the small-but-wicked Abarth or the four-door Fiat 500L, there is a Fiat for every taste," said Francois.

Later on this month, fans can visit FIATUSA.com and click on the "San Francisco Showdown" icon to help Godzilla search through a Giga Pixel landscape photograph of San Francisco, which is where the final scene of the movie takes place.

Users gain one entry into a sweepstake to win a three-day trip for two to San Francisco for each hidden Fiat vehicle or Fiat logo discovered in the landscape.
