Zipcar and Honda Motors have announced that the 2015 Honda Fit will be the exclusive vehicle used in Zipcar's new One>Way Service.

The service is set to launch later on this year, according to the two companies.

"The new Zipcar One>Way service will enable members to reserve and pick up a Honda Fit Zipcar at a designated location and drop it off at another with a guaranteed parking spot," said the two companies in a statement this week.

The car-sharing service company said it picked the new Fit vehicle for the One>Way Service because of its fuel economy and flexibility.

The service will reportedly allow users to take point-to-point trips within cities. It will also be available to those who are looking to travel to and from select airport locations.

Pricing and available locations will be revealed at a later date, according to Zipcar.

Zipcar said it is currently testing the one-way setup now to see if any adjustment need to be made to its plan before it debuts later this year.

"Zipcar's new service not only benefits members through increased flexibility, but also helps reduce congestion in cities as members are not circling the block searching for parking," said the companies in a statement.

The service also will also provide potential car buyers the chance get behind the wheel of the Fit before actually purchasing one.

Honda's new 2015 Fit competes in the same segment as vehicles like the 2014 Chevrolet Sonic, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Accent and Toyota Yaris.
