The new 2015 Mini Cooper Paceman is on track to hit U.S. dealerships late this summer with production starting in July.

Launched at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, the revamped Mini Cooper Paceman will feature exterior updates and new color options, Edmunds.com reported.

Pricing for the two-door vehicle should be announced in June, Nathalie Bauters, Mini communications manager, told Edmunds.

Rumors have been swirling for a while that the model may be discontinued, making 2015 its last year. Its 2013 sales were slow, with only 3,262 Mini Cooper Paceman units selling last year. In comparison, the Mini Cooper Coupe sold 26,954 units and the Mini Cooper Countryman four-door crossover delivered 21,325 units.

Bauters wouldn't comment on whether or not the model is on its way out, simply telling Edmunds, "Those are rumors that I cannot confirm. The Mini Paceman went on sale in 2013, and is not even mid-lifecycle."

Available in Paceman S or John Cooper Works variants, the new Mini Cooper Paceman will have standard LED fog and running lights as well as a redesigned grille and lightweight alloy wheels. The added exterior paint choices are Jungle Green metallic and Midnight Grey metallic.

For the cabin, the updated 2015 model has anthracite-colored gauges and chrome trim on the vent controls. As an option, the Mini Connected infotainment system can integrate with a smartphone and provide connectivity on the go.

In the Paceman S version, the Mini Cooper Paceman runs on a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower. The John Cooper Works variant adds a boost for 218 horsepower. All models can be paired with the standard six-speed manual transmission, and an optional six-speed automatic transmission is also available.
