2014 Ford Fiesta Earns Four-Star Safety Rating From NHTSA

Ford's 2014 Fiesta recently earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Five stars is the highest rating a vehicle can receive for one a crash test conducted by the NHTSA.

Ford's 2014 Fiesta received four stars in front and rollover crash tests and just two stars in the side-impact crash test.

The safety administration confirmed that the rating applies to the hatchback and sedan versions of the 2014 Fiesta.

The 2014 Fiesta also received "Good" ratings in crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Crash.

The vehicle earned a "Marginal" rating in the small overlap front crash test however, according to the IIHS.

The test was created to duplicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with another vehicle or a large object.

Standard safety features included on the Fiesta includes stability control and antilock brakes.

Seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag, stability control, can also be found on the 2014 Fiesta.

The Fiesta competes with similar vehicles like the 2014 Chevrolet Sonic and Hyundai Accent, among others.
