2014 Chrysler 300 Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From NHTSA

The 2014 Chrysler 300 sedan recently earned a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The safety administration confirmed that the vehicle earned five stars in the front and side impact tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The 2014 Chrysler 300 also earned "Good" ratings in every crash test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Tests including the difficult moderate overlap front crash test, which a number of vehicles have not performed well on.

Forces in the moderate overlap front crash test are comparable to those that would result from a frontal offset crash between two similar vehicles of the same weight.

Both vehicles are traveling under 40 mph in the test, according to the IIHS.

Standard equipment found on the 300 includes:

 -electronic stability control,

-rain-brake support

-ready-alert braking

-hill-start assist

- seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag

Chrysler's new 300 sedan competes with similar vehicles like the BMW 5 Series and Hyundai Genesis.

The NHTSA's rating applies to all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive and versions of the Chrysler 300.
