Volkswagen has confirmed its 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI will be sold for $25,215, including an $820 shipping fee.
The automaker's announced the price this week at the New York Auto Show.
The new price reflects a $195 price increase compared to the base price of the previous-generation two-door GTI.
Volkswagen said the price applies for the S trim model in two-door form with a six-speed manual transmission.
Confirmed standard features for the new VW vehicle includes ambient lighting, LED foglights, a touchscreen radio, and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel.
The top-of-the-line 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI Autobahn, available only with four-doors, has been listed for $30,415, including shipping.
The two-door 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI SE starts at $28,215.
Interested customers can expect the seventh-generation Golf GTI to arrive at dealerships in June.
Golf TSI and TDI vehicles will arrive at dealerships in August, according to VW.
Those who choose the six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission option will have to spend $1,100 more.
Before the end of 2014, Volkswagen will offer a GTI Performance package for Golf vehicles, for $1,495. The package includes: electronically controls limited-slip differential, larger brakes, and gets a 10-hp boost over the base GTI.
Volkswagen's new GTI delivers 25 mpg in city driving and 34 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA.
