Toyota teased its new 2015 Lexus NX compact before its expected debut at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
Two versions will most likely be sold at U.S. dealerships this fall.
The two vehicles expected this fall include a gasoline version, called the NX 200t, and a hybrid version, called the NX 300h.
"The new model, based on the LF-NX concept car, marks Lexus's entry into the compact crossover market," said Toyota in a statement over the weekend.
The original Lexus LF-NX debuted back at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show. At the time, the automaker had its sights set on releasing a vehicle capable of competing with the Range Rover Evoque.
Toyota's teaser reveals a more conservative NX vehicle, featuring angular headlights and sleek lines.
A production version of the NX will likely compete with the Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, according to Edmunds.
Pricing and specifications have not been revealed by the automaker yet for the NX vehicle.
Toyota will debut the car on April 20 at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show.
