2014 Ford EcoBoost Challenge Drive Tour to Begin Next Month

The 2014 Ford EcoBoost Challenge drive tour will kick off in the U.S. next month to give consumers around the country the chance to behind the wheel of vehicles like the 2014 Ford F-150.

The free EcoBoost Challenge begins on April 12 in Phoenix, according to a Ford press release.

The three course setups include a Hybrid Challenge, an EcoBoost Challnge drive, and an ST Performance Academy drive.

The hybrid and EcoBoost courses let participants drive Ford products against the automaker's competitors.

Ford also confirmed participants will "get an early look" at the 2015 Ford Mustang, Transit Connect Wagon and EcoBoost-powered Expedition.

"The EcoBoost Challenge gets consumers behind the wheel of some of Ford's most popular vehicles on three exciting closed-course tracks, including back-to-back drives with competitor vehicles," said Ford in a statement on Thursday.

The 2014 events are set to take place on Saturdays from April through July in 12 different markets.

The locations listed by the automaker include:

-Phoenix: University of Phoenix Stadium, April 12
-Charlotte, North Carolina: Charlotte Motor Speedway, April 18-19
-Miami: Calder Casino and Race Course, April 26
-Orlando: Daytona International Speedway, May 3
-Los Angeles: Santa Anita Race Park, May 10
-Dallas: AT&T Stadium, May 17
-Seattle: Emerald Downs, May 31
-Houston: Reliant Stadium, June 7
-Columbus, Ohio: Ohio State University, June 14
-Chicago: Arlington Park, June 21
-San Francisco: Golden Gate Fields, June 28
-Indianapolis: Lucas Oil Stadium, July 19

Pre-registration is required to take part in the EcoBoost Challenge.

Over 28,000 people took part in the 2013 EcoBoost Challenge events, according to Ford.
