'Fast & Furious 7' Production to Resume in April? (VIDEO)

Universal Pictures will supposedly resume production in April for "Fast & Furious 7," which has been on hiatus since December after the death of actor Paul Walker, according to a new report.

Director James Wan, producer Neal Moritz, and writer Chris Morgan have been working together to figure out how to continue the movie, which was only partially compete when Walker was killed.

The report, released by The Hollywood Reporter, claims shooting will continue on April 1 at the Atlanta set.

Universal has yet to comment on the news so far.

Production was suspended in December after Walker was killed in a fiery single-engine car crash in Santa Clarita, California on Nov. 30, 2013.

"We feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on 'Fast & Furious 7' for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise," said Universal in a statement.

The studio has confirmed that at least some of Walker's scenes will still appear in the movie.

The movie was going to be released this July, but the release date has since been pushed back to April 2015.

If filming does continue in April, and finishes up around early June, that would give the studio 10 months to complete post-production and marketing.

The seventh installment of the "Fast & Furious" franchise features regulars like Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and Jason Statham.
