Nissan has confirmed over 13,535 2012-'14 Nissan Frontier pickup trucks have been recalled over a fire risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Approximately 13,535 vehicles are involved in the recall. Affected trucks were manufactured from November 28, 2012 through December 17, 2013.

"In the affected vehicles, a circuit breaker may have been installed incorrectly, causing the main wire harness connected to the circuit breaker to face outward, potentially contacting a metal bolt located on the A-pillar," said the NHTSA. "The bolt may wear through the wire harness covering, resulting in an electrical short which could cause a fire."

Nissan told federal safety regulators if a short circuit occurs, the sunroof and power seat functions could become "inoperable." A battery discharge could occur in some cases, if the vehicle is turned off.

Nissan is not currently aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue.

The recall will begin early March.

Nissan dealers are being instructed to inspect the circuit breaker orientation. If an issue is determined with the orientation, the truck will be repaired, free of charge.
