Be careful what you Facebook.

The ubiquitous social network will be displaying your content even after you die, and the visibility won't necessarily be restricted just to your friends, Valley Wag reported.

Facebook has had a "memorial mode" for some time that lets friends and family reach out to the site and make the account a memorial for someone who has passed away.

Previously, the memorial accounts were only visible to friends, but Facebook has changed the game.

"Starting today, we will maintain the visibility of a person's content as-is," Facebook officials said in a blog post. "This will allow people to see memorialized profiles in a manner consistent with the deceased person's expectations of privacy."

According to Facebook, the change goes along with the dead person's wishes.

"We are respecting the choices a person made in life while giving their extended community of family and friends ongoing visibility to the same content they could always see," Facebook said.

The company has also said that loved ones will be able to view a "Look Back" video for someone who is deceased, a change that came after a Missouri man pleaded to view a video for his dead son.  

The site's increasingly confusing privacy standards make it difficult to know which interactions are public and which can only be seen by friends, Valley Wag noted.

"So if you're planning on getting hit by a drunk driver or something tomorrow, make sure you meticulously go through the last decade or so of Facebook photos, posts, statuses, notes, albums and any other interaction you've had on the site," Valley Wag's Sam Biddle said.

"You don't want that keg stand profile picture to be the only proof you existed, right?"
