The 2015 Subaru WRX STI offers more power, faster steering and other bigger features that make it a top choice for speed demons.
Perfect at higher speeds, the STI is similar to its WRX brother, but the bright blue sedan has a stiffer chassis and bigger wheels, according to a Jalopnik review.
The powertrain is carried over from earlier STI models, and the car features the traditional STI wing as well as 18-inch wheels available in gold.
"They are minor changes, but they come together to make the WRX look aggressive, angry, rude and menacing," Jalopnik's Travis Okulski described.
"The STI looks like a rally weapon should."
The car runs on the 2.5-liter, 305-horsepower engine paired with the six-speed manual transmission familiar to STI fans and tuners that have worked with the models during the last decade, Jalopnik reported.
For the interior, the sedan has a roomier cabin with Alcantara seats and red and black accents, said a Subaru press release.
The latest model "debuts a new four-door wide-body design, built on a stiffer chassis for even greater handling agility and precision," Subaru said.
The new STI handles especially well on the track, according to Jalopnik.
"If you want to really get it in its element, switch the traction control to Trac Mode," Okulski said. "That turns off the traction and stability control, but leaves the torque vectoring on. Then drive it onto a curvy, wide, one-way road with no speed limits, preferably one that has a lot of elevation change."
The 2015 WRX STI is available in Standard, Limited and Launch trims and starts at $34,495, the same price as the previous year's model, according to Subaru.
The starting price is $8,000 more than the base WRX, Jalopnik noted.
