Brittany Snow has signed on to star in the "Pitch Perfect" sequel, reprising her role as Chloe, Deadline reported in an exclusive.
The "Hairspray" actress will join co-stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, who will also reprise their respective roles in the film, which is slated for a May 15, 2015 release, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Elizabeth Banks, who was recently seen onscreen as Effie Trinket in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," will direct the sequel, while Kay Cannon will return to write the script.
Cannon earned her stripes writing and co-producing on NBC's "30 Rock" since the beginning of the show, which also featured Banks in a multiple season character arc.
Banks was earlier an executive producer on "Pitch Perfect." The 2012 comedy was an unexpected hit centering on The Bellas, an all-female a cappella college group. The film spawned a Billboard Hot 100 hit with "Cups," sung by Anna Kendrick as Beca.
Jezebel described "Pitch Perfect" as a "self-aware, edgy comedy" with "amazing a cappella arrangements."
Created with a modest $17 million production budget, "Pitch Perfect" brought in a $65 million domestic gross, according to Box Office Mojo.
The film even received approval from Rolling Stone's Peter Travers.
"This spoofy, sassy romp presents us with a cappella rivalry on the fictional campus of Barden U and hits an above-average share of hilarious high notes," Travers wrote in the 2012 review.
Of the lead, he wrote, "Kendrick is terrific, taking a role that could have slid by on snide and building it into something uniquely funny and touching."
