2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class To Have Swarovski Crystal Headlamps

Car enthusiasts who are looking for some extra bling will be in luck this fall when the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe hits dealerships.

Buyers will have the option to add Swarovski crystals to the car's headlamps, Yahoo Autos reported.

If they choose to add the feature, 47 Swarovski crystals will grace the vehicle, 30 for the turn signal and 17 on the running lamp, according to Yahoo Autos.

The S550 4Matic, the base version of the two-door coupe, is expected to go on sale in the United States in October, while the high-end S63 AMG should be available in November, according to Edmunds.com.

Official pricing hasn't been announced yet, but the 2015 S550 4Matic will likely start around $116,000, with the S63 AMG Coupe expected to top $200,000.

Both trims will have standard all-wheel drive and seven-speed automatic transmission.

For specifications, the S550 will run on a 4.7-liter biturbo V8 engine, creating 449 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. It should get an estimated 19 miles per gallon, averaging 16 city and 26 highway mpg.

The S63 AMG will hold a 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine, boasting 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque and getting around 18 miles per gallon on average.

The new coupe will also feature the first-ever "active curve tilting function," a feature that allows the car to "lean into bends" similar to a motorcyclist or skier.

An option for the cockpit is a "head-up display [that] informs the driver about vehicle speed, navigation instructions and driving assistance system messages," according to Edmunds.

Other luxury features include a "fragrancing" function for aromatherapy as well as ambient lighting that can be changed to seven different "moods." For entertainment, two quality audio systems are available.
