The Bugatti Veyron, which was recently on display at the Chicago Auto Show in a 2008 model, has the supercar speed to more than match its multi-million-dollar price tag.
The car featured at the auto show, a 2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4, already has ridiculous power with an 8-liter, quadruple turbo-charged, 16-cylinder engine, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The 2008 model can hit more than 1,000 horsepower and go from 0 to 62 mph in 2.6 seconds, but its 2014 version is even more insane. This year's model boasts 1,200 horsepower and reaches 62 mph in 2.5 seconds, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The supercar can also brake on a dime, going from 60 mph to a full stop in just 2.3 seconds.
One of 71 sold that year, the 2008 model started at around $1.5 million.
The 2014 version wasn't featured at the auto show because all new Bugatti models are presold and can't be displayed in shows, a Perillo Auto Group spokesman told the Chicago Tribune.
Perillo Auto Group supplies the car along with such models as McLaren, Rolls Royce, Bentley and Lamborghini.
A white and green Bugatti will reportedly be the latest addition to the Dubai Police cruiser lineup, according to Autoweek.
As the car cruises the city, which is part of the United Arab Emirates, #MyDubai will be on its side. The hashtag is part of social media initiative started by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, crown prince of Dubai, Autoweek reported.
The Dubai Police already boast an impressive collection of vehicles that includes an Audi R8 V10 Plus, Bentley Continental GT, Brabus B63S, Ferrari FF and Nissan GT-R. Despite their power, the supercars are generally used for public displays rather than high-speed chases.
