Ford has decided to increase production for its Ford's F-Series Super Duty trucks due to customer demand.
The automaker confirmed this week it will invest at least $80 million at its Kentucky truck plant to increase production.
Ford will add 350 jobs to the Kentucky plant as well to help increase production by 15 percent, or 55,000 F-Series Super Duty trucks.
The Kentucky plant is responsible for other Ford trucks like the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty pickups. The Lincoln Navigator and the Ford Expedition are also produced at the plant.
The F-Series Super Duty competes in the same segment as similar vehicles like the 2014 GMC Sierra HD, Chevrolet Silverado HD and Ram 2500 pickup.
"Customer demand for F-Series Super Duty trucks is growing substantially," said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of The Americas, in a statement, according to the automaker.
Ford also confirmed the revised 2015 F-Series Super Duty will hit dealerships this spring.
The F-450 pickup truck will be on sale sometime during this summer, according to Ford.
The F-Series Super Duty comes equipped with a 6.7-liter V8 turbodiesel engine and a larger turbocharger, Ford said.
Pricing has not been revealed for the new vehicle.
