Chrysler has announced that the 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad will debut at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show.
The new Journey model, which should arrive at dealerships this spring, features an updated exterior with unique performance front and rear fascias and darkly tinted headlamps and tail lamps.
"The Journey has always been Dodge's Swiss Army knife in the CUV segment, and with the new Journey Crossroad, we are expanding that flexibility by now offering three different exterior appearances," Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO for the Dodge brand, said in the press release.
"The Journey Crossroad's rugged styling gives it a tough presence on the road; the available all-wheel drive system gives it the capability to back it up in a variety of bad weather driving conditions."
The new model runs on a standard 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque and has a four-speed automatic transmission, giving 26 miles per gallon on the highway.
Featuring all-wheel drive, the Journey Crossroad uses only the front wheels for maximum fuel efficiency and employs all four wheels when needed.
Inside, the seven-passenger crossover vehicle has an 8.4-inch touchscreen and new leather seat design, said the press release. The interior also has black leather seating with sport mesh inserts in the standard trim.
Other features available in the base trim include seven air bags, illuminated cup holders, Keyless Enter 'n Go with push-button start and steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, according to the press release.
Starting at $24,995, excluding $995 destination, the Dodge Journey Crossroad is available in a variety of exterior colors that include Pitch Black, Bright Silver Metallic, White, Copperhead Pearl, Fathom Blue Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Pearl White Tri-Coat and Redline Red 2-coat Pearl.
The 2014 Chicago Auto Show will be held in the North and South Exhibit Halls of the McCormick Place complex, where more than 1,000 vehicles will be displayed.
