Teen Who Stole Guy Fieri's Lamborghini Gets Life For Attempted Murder

A California teenager was sentenced to life plus 21 years in prison for attempted murder and stealing a Lamborghini owned by celebrity chef Guy Fieri, according to Reuters.

Max Wade, 19, from San Francisco Bay, was sentenced to life with a chance of parole for shooting into a truck with his former girlfriend and her boyfriend back in April 2012, according to his attorney Charles Dresow.

The teen received a separate 16-month sentence for taking the sports car, on top of the life term with a 20-year sentence enhancement for using a firearm in a premeditated attempted murder, according to Reuters.

Thanks to new state law for people who commit a crime as juveniles but are convicted as adults, Wade will be allowed to a parole after serving 20 years. Wade has already earned two years' credit for time already served.

Wade was 17 when the shooting occured.

The judge who presided over the trial determined that Wade was guilty in late 2013, and handed down the sentence in Marin County Superior Court.

"He deserves it," Judge Kelly Simmons said in during the sentencing hearing, according to The San Francisco Chronicle. "The crime was very, very serious. This is not a spur-of-the-moment loss of temper. This is a planned act."

Wade was arrested for the shooting north of San Francisco. He supposedly drove off on a motorcycle after firing more than one shot at the couple, who were not injured.

Police solved a car theft that occurred the year before while investigating the shooting. Witnesses said a man stole a vehicle off the roof of San Francisco dealership and drove off in a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder.

The Gallardo was owned by Fieri, a well-known Food Network personality, according to Reuters. The sports car, worth approximately $200,000, was found in a storage shed with Wade's motorcycle.

Wade was taken into custody back in May 2012.
