Fans Can Enter Oscar Mayer Contest to Lease the Wienermobile

Oscar Meyer buyers finally have the chance to take a ride in a real-life Wienermobile. In the first-ever "lease" deal conducted through Twitter, the Wienermobile will go to one lucky winner for a day of free rides.

"Being the first car available for lease exclusively on Twitter was far too big a distinction to go to any old sedan or sport-utility vehicle," Tom Bick, senior director of integrated marketing and advertising at Oscar Mayer, said in a company press release. "Only a 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels, the Wienermobile, would do."

Fans can enter for a chance to win the eight-hour lease by tweeting "#Tweet2Lease" starting today. The contest will run through Feb. 7.

The winner will be selected at random to get a day's access to the Wienermobile, which will be driven by "Hotdoggers," the car's personal chauffeurs. The lucky contestant will also score a $500 cash prize.

The contest will be promoted through a special Wienermobile car commercial that is featured on the Oscar Mayer YouTube page.

The commercial has close-up shots of the car's features before the camera zooms out to showcase the entire 27-foot-long Wienermobile.

People can automatically enter the drawing by sending an "eligible" tweet that tells Oscar Mayer why they deserve the Wienermobile lease and includes the hashtag. Fans who are entering the contest must have public Twitter accounts, and the entry tweet must be in good taste as determined by the judges.

Fans can also find out more at the company's Facebook page or the Wienermobile Twitter account, and the official drawing rules can be found here. Officials will contact the winning fan to coordinate a day to lease the Wienermobile.
