2014 Ford Escape Priced For $23,595

The 2014 Ford Escape will be sold for $23,595, a $230 price increase compared to the 2013 model.

Ford redesigned the Escape in 2013, and the 2014 model is a carryover vehicle. He SEL trim level option has been discontinued by Ford.

The Ford Escape Titanium will be available for a base price of $29,995, including shipping, according to the automaker.

New features available for the Ford Escape includes a rearview camera and Sync, which are now standard on all trim levels, according to Ford. Safety features includes a rearview camera, and blind-spot mirrors.

The Titanium option doesn't come standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The 2.5-liter engine option has an estimate 25 mpg combined, whereas the fuel economy for the turbocharged 1.6 with front-wheel drive is over 26 mpg combined.

The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is 25 mpg combined, according to Ford.

The 2013 model was recalled seven times since it was redesigned and went on sale in 2012 for a number of different issues.

The 2014 model earned four out of five stars in government crash testing however, while also receiving a "Good" rating from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety in the Institute's side-impact, frontal offset, and roof-strength tests.

Other vehicles like the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Hyundai Santa Fe Sport compete with the Ford Escape.
