BMW Confirms New 2 Series Convertible Coming in 2015

BMW confirmed its new 2015 2 Series convertible will be released next year at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

The convertible option of the coupe will come with a soft top, according to Dr. Herbert Diess, a member of the BMW management board.

The convertible will compete against similar vehicles like the Lexus IS and Ford Mustang.

BMW said the 2 Series is wider, longer, and faster than the BMW 1 Series Coupe.

The new vehicle also offers more interior space than its predecessor.

Pricing and the vehicle's launch date have not been announced yet.

The new 2 series replaces the 1 Series Coupe according to BMW.

Expect the entry-level 2 Series to go on sale sometime during the first quarter of 2014.  

BMW also recently revealed a new app is being developed by Samsung for Galaxy Gear watches. The new app will help owners of the BMW i3 vehicles.

The app was demonstrated at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show.
