An app geared to ages nine and up that taught how to perform plastic surgery has been removed from the iTunes store after a Twitter firestorm.

Called "Plastic Surgery & Plastic Doctor & Plastic Hospital Office for Barbie Version," the app came from a developer that went by "Corina Rodriguez" and let users perform liposuction on a large blonde woman, according to a Jezebel post.

The game's description reportedly read, "This unfortunate girl has so much extra weight that no diet can help her. In our clinic she can go through a surgery called liposuction that will make her slim and beautiful. We'll need to make small cuts on problem areas and suck out the extra fat. Will you operate on her, doctor?"

The EverydaySexism Twitter account tweeted about the app, telling users to "tweet @iTunes if you think they should reconsider marketing this crap to players aged 9+." The tweet has been retweeted nearly 800 times.

The app, which was released early this month, was removed by iTunes on Tuesday morning, according to Jezebel.

Google Play has its own available plastic surgery app from a developer called Natalya Staritsyna, The Independent reported.

The description for that app, named "Plastic Surgery," reads, "Barbara likes to eat a lot of burgers and chocolates and once she found that she looks ugly. She can't make it up with situation any additional second. And today plastic surgeon is going to make operation on her body and face in order to return cute Barbara's look. She is afraid of all of this."

According to The Independent, the app's description suggests that it may have been downloaded as many as 1 million times. 

A Google spokesman told The Guardian Tuesday night, "We don't comment on individual apps, but will remove apps that breach our guidelines."
