An Australian man and a Romanian teenager have constructed real car built with over 500,000 Lego bricks.

The two-seater has a top speed of 20 mph and is powered by four engines with 256 pistons, each made of Legos, and runs on compressed air, according to a report by Reuters.

Steve Sammartino and Romanian tech expert Raul Oaida created the vehicle, which

"I wanted to do something interesting that shows there are a myriad of possible innovations for cars. We wanted to be an example to open people's minds," Sammartino said Australian media, according to Reuters. "It's something the car industry needs."

The vehicle was constructed thanks to a venture started on Twitter called "Super Awesome Micro Project." Over 40 people helped fund the Lego car, pledging between $500 and $1,000 each, according to Reuters.

The yellow and black Lego vehicle took 20 months to finish, according to The San Jose Mercury News.

Besides structural gear like tires, wheels, and gauges, only black and yellow Lego bricks were used during construction.

The vehicle was constructed in Romania before being sent to Melbourne to be completed.
