2014 Super Bowl Commercials: Volkswagen to Debut New 60-Second Spot

Volkswagen has confirmed it will advertise during the 2014 Super Bowl, in a spot the automaker promises will be "uniquely Volkswagen."

The German automaker is well-known for its Star Wars-themed commercial called "The Force" which appeared during the 2011 game. It starred the 2012 Volkswagen Passat and a mini Darth Vader.

The 2011 spot is considered by many as not only the best commercial of the 2011 game but also the best car commercial ever show during the Super Bowl.

"Volkswagen gladly accepts the challenge of keeping fans smiling during the Big Game's commercial break," said Vinay Shahani, Volkswagen of America vice president of marketing, in a statement.

Volkswagen has not said which vehicle will be featured in the big 60-second commercial.

Other automakers ans companies to conform advertisements already for the 2014 game includes Hyundai, Audi, Kia, and Jaguar.

Hyundai is planning on promoting its new Elantra and Genesis during the big game.

Super Bowl XLVIII is set to take place February 2, 2014 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

So what do you think about Volkswagen's announcement. Do you think their new commercial will be better than the 2011 spot?
