Daimler has announced this week that it will increase production for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, to meet a growing demand for the vehicle.

Workers at the S-Class production plant, which is located in Sindelfingen, Germany, have agreed to extend their working day by approximately 74 minutes each day starting in 2014.

The plant has also decided to introduce Saturday shifts as well, according to a company press release.

"In order to satisfy all customer wishes, the Mercedes-Benz plants have introduced numerous special shifts," Daimler said in a statement.

The company has added extra shifts to also build more 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK SUVs and C-Class vehicles.

Ten distinctive shifts have been outlined for December to produce the C-Class and the GLK at the automaker's Bremen, Germany plant as well.

A Mercedes-Benz plant located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which produces Mercedes-Benz M-Class and GL-Class SUVs, has operated 10 additional Saturdays, according to Daimler.

In 2014, the Tuscaloosa plant will start manufacturing the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which will be sold in the North America.

"In 2015, the facility will begin manufacturing a new Mercedes-Benz model as its fifth product," said the automaker.
