Adam Sandler Voted Most-Overpaid Actor of 2013 by Forbes

Comedian Adam Sandler was named Hollywood's most-overpaid actor for 2013 by Forbes magazine this week.

Sandler, 47, who has starred in recent comedies like "Jack & Jill" and "That's My Boy," unseated Eddie Murphy, who was the most-overpaid actor last year.

Forbes said that Sandler's last three movies returned an average of $3.40 for every dollar he was paid.

Actress Katherine Heigl, who recently starred in lackluster films like "Killers" and "One for the Money," placed slightly behind Sandler, returning an average of $3.50 per every dollar she was paid, according to Forbes.

The list counts the last three films an actor has starred in over the past three years. This year's list was cut off at June 1, so it did not include Sandler's latest role in "Grown Ups 2," which was released in July and performed well in the box-office.

The magazine said it studies an actors' pay, expenses, and film budgets to calculate the average return an actor brings per dollar paid.

Reese Witherspoon, the star of films like "Water for Elephants" and "This Means War," finished third on annual list, with an average return of $3.90 for every dollar she was given.

Nicholas Cage was fourth, with a $6 average return, and Sandler's buddy Kevin James was fifth on the list, with a return average of $6.10.

Denzel Washington, Steve Carell, Jennifer Aniston, Matt Damon and Ryan Reynolds also made the list.
