Thousands Remember ‘Fast & Furious’ Star Paul Walker at California Rally (VIDEO)

Thousands of fans gathered in Southern California on Dec. 8 at the site of actor Paul Walker's death to pay tribute to the "Fast and Furious" star and a friend who were killed in a recent fiery crash.

Fans came from all-over the world for the car rally memorial to pay their respects to Walker, 40, and Roger Rodas, 38, who died on Nov. 30.

Rodas, the owner of an auto dealership and racing company, was driving a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT with Walker in the passenger seat when it crashed into a utility pole.

Walker was on his way back from a charity event in Santa Clarita, about 25 miles north of Los Angeles, according to Reuters.

The memorial, which was organized through social media sites, technically started at 12:00 p.m., but local police said that fans started arriving as early as 6 a.m.

Over 1,000 cars drove past the crash site, which is now marked by flowers and cards, and approximately 5,000 people showed up. Mourners came from as far away as Texas, Arizona and Nevada for the rally.

Walker was featured in five "Fast & Furious" movies and was on break from filming the seventh installment, which was due July 2014. Production has been stopped for now, and the release date will likely be pushed back.

The actor also played supporting roles in 1998's "Pleasantville" and 1999's "Varsity Blues."

Walker finished filming a Hurricane Katrina survival film called "Hours," which will be released this week on December 13, and the crime drama called "Brick Mansions," which is in post-production and will be released in 2014, according to IMDB.
