The new 2014 Volkswagen Touareg X Special Edition will be sold for a base price of $57,080, including a $910 destination fee.
Volkswagen is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the SUV with a brand new model, set to be released next year, according to a company press statement.
The new model was designed with the Touareg TDI Lux in mind. The TDI Lux is sold for $55,885, including the shipping fee.
Production for the Touareg X will be limited to 1,000 vehicles, according to Volkswagen.
Volkswagen has confirmed the vehicle is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged and direct injection V6 TDI Clean Diesel engine capable of 240 horsepower.
The engine is strapped to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Other features and specs include: Moonlight Blue Pearl exterior paint, 19-inch Moab aluminum-alloy wheels, Touareg X badging, a panoramic powered sunroof, navigation with an eight-inch touchscreen, and LED taillights.
The cabin has been designed with Vienna leather seating in Black Anthracite, along with Ebony Wood accents for the doors and dashboard, according to the automaker.
