Kohl's Shooting: Stabbings And Fighting Over Parking Spots Mars Black Friday

Black Friday's unplanned mayhem this year included a shoplifting suspect who was shot, a stabbing and a fight over a parking space that escalated into one man pulling out a gun, Jezebel reported.

While attempting to make an arrest, a police officer shot a shoplifting suspect who tried to drive away, dragging the officer through a Kohl's parking lot Thursday night, the outlet reported via The New York Times. The suspect's condition was not believed to be serious, Police Chief Mark Turvey said in a televised appearance published by The Chicago Tribune.

Authorities in Carlsbad, Calif., arrested Javier Covarrubias, 18, just after midnight. The teenager is a suspect in the stabbing of another man at the El Camino Real mall.

A "belligerent" New Jersey man arguing with a fellow Walmart shopper about a television ended up getting doused with pepper spray and arrested, NJ.com reported.

After the disagreement with another shopper, Richard Ramos, 23, got into an argument with a Walmart manager, who called for help. Officers used pepper spray and arrested Ramos; he was charged with aggravated assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, according to Lt. Martin Gray.

A man who had just purchased a new TV was shot in the leg in Las Vegas Thursday evening, 8NewsNow reported. The shopper bought a large-screen TV at a Target store and was unloading it from his car to his apartment when another man confronted him with a gun.

During a struggle, the gun went off, shooting the victim in the leg. The would-be robber then drove off in a "dark-color sedan" without taking the TV, which was left in the street after the shooting.

"The gentleman let off about two rounds shooting the guy in his leg and he just hopped in the car and took off and he didn't even get the TV,"witness Samson Barnum said. "if you can see it's still sitting over there on the ground,"

In Virginia, two men were arrested for a violent altercation over a parking space that resulted in a stabbing. Ronnie Sharp, 61, and Chrisopher Jackson, 35, fought over a parking space, and Sharp pulled out a rifle, WVVA reported. Sharp then took out a knife and sliced Jackson's arm to the bone, authorities said.
