Hyundai is recalling 15,500 Hyundai Entourage minivans in the U.S. because of a corrosion issue in cold-weather states, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The front lower control arms are supposedly at a risk of fracturing due to corrosion from exposure to "road salt and water," said NHTSA.

"A fractured control arm can result in the loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash," said NHTSA regarding the problem.

The affected Entourages were built from February 16, 2006 through June 30, 2008.

The recall affects vehicles sold in or currently registered in cold-weather states, including: Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

No injuries, crashes or fatalities have taken place due to the issue, according to Jim Trainor, a Hyundai spokesman.

The recall will begin in December. Hyundai dealers are being instructed to replace the lower control arms or rustproof them, depending on the issue.
