Leighton Meester and Adam Brody Are Engaged

Television stars Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are engaged about 10 months after confirming their relationship, PEOPLE reported.

As well-known faces on "Gossip Girl" and "The O.C.," respectively, the actors inspired Jezebel to write a post headlined "Seth Cohen and Blair Waldorf Are Engaged."

Meester, 27, played Blair on "Gossip Girl" for all six seasons of the popular show, while Brody hit it big with four seasons of "The O.C."

The New York Daily News called it "the ultimate TV crossover moment." MSN's Wonderwall first broke the news, reporting, "A spy tells us Leighton and Adam celebrated the happy news with close friends and family at an engagement bash in Los Angeles on Nov. 10."

The couple, who have kept their relationship extremely private, were seen having dinner with a friend in Venice, Calif., in February. As they walked out, "Adam put his arm around Leighton and the two smiled at each other while she snuggled into his chest before the trio headed out," an onlooker told PEOPLE.

Meester and Brody worked together and reportedly became close while acting in the 2011 film "The Oranges." Both have weathered show business relationships in the past.

Back in 2010, Meester spoke about her "really hard" split from Sebastian Stan, saying, "I was really sad when it ended, but that's what taught me a lot about myself and love and life--and that's good."

Brody dated co-star Rachel Bilson while the two were filming "The O.C." After they split in 2006, Brody most recently dated screenwriter Lorene Scafaria in 2011.

Meester was last seen onscreen when "Gossip Girl" wrapped last year, but she has several project in the works, according to IMDB. Both actors are listed as cast members in the upcoming "Life Partners," tenatively scheduled for release next year.
