The 2014 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD was unveiled this week and will be appearing at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Acura confirmed that its new vehicle will be sold with a three-motor hybrid system for around $61,000, according to a Honda press release.
The RLX Sport Hybrid returns an approximately 28 mpg in city driving and 32 mpg on the highway, which is better than earlier estimates that the vehicle would return 30 mpg on the highway. The non-hybrid option returns 20 mpg in city driving and 31 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA.
The RLX Sport Hybrid will go on sale this spring, though the automaker has not confirmed how much it'll be sold for. Formal pricing might be revealed sometime this winter.
The new RLX model is the first vehicle in its lineup to use the new three-motor hybrid powertrain, according to the automaker. The system links a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with a built-in electric motor.
Honda replaced the vehicle's traditional center-console-mounted shift lever with a push-button setup that will allow drivers to choose their desired drive mode: Park, Drive and Reverse, along with Sport and Normal.
The RLX Hybrid also comes LED headlights and two audio systems, including an Acura/ELS Studio premium audio system with 14 speakers or a 14-speaker Krell system.
