Subaru Tribeca Production to End in January, Will be Replaced By Three-Row Midsize SUV

Subaru has decided to end production for its Tribeca midsize crossover SUV.

Production will end in January 2014, and deliveries to dealerships will end in February, according to Subaru spokeswoman Jessica Tullman.

The seven-passenger 2014 Tribeca crossover is offered as a Limited model, for a base price of $35,745, including an $825 destination charge.

Typically Subaru's worst-selling vehicle, the Tribeca hasn't been able to compete against competitors like the Dodge Durago, Chevrolet Traverse, and Honda Pilot.

Only 1,247 Tribecas have been sold in 2013 so far, compared to 90,073 Outbacks during the same time period.

It's not all bad news for the automaker however as they also announced a new vehicle this week.

"We have confirmed we will return to the three-row segment in the future," said Michael McHale, a Subaru of America spokesman, in a statement.

No further details have been revealed regarding the new model.
