BMW Confirms 2 Series Debut Coming Oct. 25, Teaser Video Revealed (WATCH)

BMW has confirmed its new 2 Series Coupe will debut later this week.

No information regarding pricing or when the vehicle will be released to the world has been revealed yet.

BMW revealed three years ago that the 1-Series would be renamed, and after all this time the 2 Series will finally be revealed this week.

The new 2 Series is expected to compete in the luxury compact segment, alongside similar vehicles like the 2015 Audi A3 and the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class sedans, according to Edmunds.

The news was revealed in a teaser video on the automakers YouTube page.

BMW's 35-second teaser video features a silhouette of the new 2 Series. The tagline "The first-ever BMW 2 Series Coupe. Unveiling October 25" is also shown towards the end of the video to get BMW fans excited.

The video has been viewed over 100,000 times as of Oct. 21.

The base model will likely be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, capable of delivering 240 hp.
