Did Selena Gomez Cry for Justin Bieber? Star Breaks Down During 'Love Will Remember' Performance (VIDEO)

The lines between art and life can blur even for Disney stars. Selena Gomez almost broke down onstage Wednesday while singing "Love Will Remember," a ballad from her new album that is reportedly about ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, the New York Daily News reported.

Gomez, 21, became emotional and openly teary during the performance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

"Just like everybody else in this room, I have days where it just sucks and you feel alone and you just don't know if this is what you should be doing," she said to the crowd afterward.

"Love Will Remember," which is the closer on Gomez's fourth album, "Stars Dance," is a special one to the actress and singer, she told InStyle in a recent interview.

"That's the most personal track on the record, for sure," she said. "I think it's a sweet way of releasing it. It's not an aggressive approach to what people are probably expecting ... I'm sure he'll love it too."

The celebrity pair, who dated for about two years, got plenty of album material from the relationship: Gomez's "Stars Dance" also features "Forget Forever," while Bieber recently released "Heartbreaker," the first track from his upcoming record.

At the Brooklyn show, Gomez was especially emotional toward the end of the song, which includes the lyrics, "We used to be inseparable/I used to think that I was irreplaceable/We lit the whole world up before we blew it up/I still don't know how we screwed it up."

The pop star confessed her personal struggles to the crowd and thanked them for their support.

"I have to say that after everything I go through on a daily basis, you guys never fail to make me smile, so thank you so much," she said.

Later Wednesday night, Gomez took to Instagram to explain why she burst into tears at the end of the show, the New York Daily News reported.

"Never ended such a beautiful show in tears because they wouldn't allow me to Instagram tonight. Completely heartbroken and pi---d. Thank you SO much Brooklyn. Ill be stopping outside Letterman tomorrow to make it up if you can make it. I love you guys more than you know. Promise," she wrote.

But according to fans on social media, Gomez also cried on stage Tuesday in Buffalo, N.Y., during the same song.
