The 2014 Kia Optima midsize sedan arrives in showrooms nationwide this month, and Kia Motors America has launched a new advertising campaign to promote the redesigned model.
The new Optima has easy-to-use technology features and turbo-charged performance, according to a Kia press release.
Called "dynamic" and "sporty" in the campaign, the 2014 version of the Optima, the vehicle that leads Kia's sales, is sleeker with a more fuel-efficient engine. Optional features include leather-trimmed seats, 18-inch chrome wheels, new LED fog lights, red brake calipers and an electronic parking brake.
"Performance enhancements and high-tech amenities are core to the redesigned 2014 Optima," said Michael Sprague, executive vice president of marketing and communications.
The Optima campaign has introduced 30-second commercial spots that will air on national television and designed to appeal to the Hispanic demographic.
"The new spots help to increase Kia's presence among the important and growing Hispanic demographic by placing the Optima in everyday situations people can easily identify with while highlighting our midsize sedan as not only attractive and stylish but also functional, safe and feature-filled," Sprague said.
One example is "Pez," which is set to a Spanish-language track and features a frantic father who uses the Optima's Sport driving mode to get home in a hurry, said the press release. In "Cuidando de ti," the Optima's Blind Spot Detection system saves the day for a group of friends.
Kia Motors America is one of only three auto brands to increase U.S. sales in each of the past four years, and in 2012 the company surpassed the 500,000 unit mark for the first time, according to the press release.
The Optima sold more than 150,000 units last year, according to Kia.
"With the latest version of the Optima, Kia continues to advance value to new levels of sophistication, offering mid-size sedan consumers new premium amenities and convenience upgrades," Sprague said.
