2015 Chevrolet SUVs: Suburban and Tahoe Feature Improved Safety and Entertainment Systems (VIDEO)

Chevrolet debuted the 2015 Chevy Suburban, which will be one of the largest vehicles on the road, according to USA Today.

The new Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe were presented at the Orange County Auto Show last weekend in Anaheim.

The Suburban features both style and practicality with an updated leather interior, as well as, a suite of up to six USB ports and power outlets for long trips. The 19-foot vehicle has fold-out second- and third-row seats and two more inches of legroom in the second row.

The new model, which is engineered with improved steering and braking, also has an available rear-seat entertainment system complete with dual screens and a Blu-ray DVD player.

For power, the vehicle has a standard 5.3-liter V-8 with fuel-saving-direct injection, cylinder deactivation, continuously variable valve timing and an advanced combustion system. The new Suburban, which goes on sale early next year, also has a six-speed transmission.

Both the Tahoe and the Suburban have standard and available safety features that include forward collision alert, front park assist, lane departure warning, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert and adaptive cruise control.

The Suburban and Tahoe are two of the last full-frame SUVs in showrooms, according to USA Today's report.

While the SUV is not the most fuel-efficient car, it's still a big mover for General Motors, which sold more than 117,000 full-size SUVs last year, according to a Chevrolet press release.

"Customers will experience greater refinement, efficiency and safety with the same capability that has made Chevrolet the go-to brand for full-size SUVs," Tim Mahoney, Chevrolet global chief marketing officer said in a press release.

According to the press release, sales for the Suburban were up more than 16 percent for the first month of 2013 compared to last year.
