GM Opens Public Plant Tours to View 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Production

People interested in seeing how the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is made will get their chance according to Chevrolet, which announced public plant tours at the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant will resume on October 14.

Museum Delivery, Buyers Tour and the Corvette Photo Album programs are already back in business, according to a company press release.

The tour and customer programs were stopped last year so the plant could undergo a $131-million upgrade to help produce the Corvette.

Tours include a one-mile walking tour of the Corvette production line. They will be offered Monday through Friday at 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Tours cost $7 per person, according to Chevrolet.

Reservations are recommended and can be made online now.

Current GM employees, GM retirees and active military personnel are allowed to take the tour free of charge. Accompanying guests of up to 10 people will be admitted at no charge as well.

GM began producing Corvettes at the Bowling assembly plant in 1981.
