GM Unleashes Brand-New 2015 Chevrolet, GMC SUVs (PHOTOS)

General Motors has revealed today brand-new 2015 Chevrolet and GMC SUV models set to be released during the first quarter of 2014.

The automaker announced that GM fans can expect a new 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, and the 2015 GMC Yukon and Yukon Denali in a company press release.

The new SUVs were designed based on the structure of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra pickups, which are equipped with direct-injection 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s.

Interested customers can expect the SUVs to come with new interiors, something that GM customers complained about with each models predecessor. The vehicles will also include standard fold-into-the-floor functionality for the model's third-row seat, according to GM.

For the current Tahoe, Yukon, and Suburban models, the third-row has to be removed for complete use of the vehicle's cargo space.

Each model will use GM's custom-made six-speed automatic transmission with tow/haul capability and an automatic grade-braking function, according to GM.

Estimated fuel economy numbers have not yet been announced by the EPA.

The Tahoe will weigh 5,746 lbs, comes with four-wheel drive and 20-inch wheels, though 22-inch wheels will be made available. The Yukon Denali comes with all-wheel-drive and weighs 5,746 lbs.

GM expects to sell about 250,000 full-size SUVs this year, and the Chevrolet Tahoe/ Suburban, and GMC Yukon/Denali are expected to account for 75 percent of all SUV sales.
