California's oldest driver, Edythe Kirchmaier, recently received a surprise gift from an anonymous fan after learning that the 105-year-old was driving around in a broken down minivan from the late 90s.
Kirchmaier was given a new 2013 Honda Civic for free after an anonymous fan learned that her 1997 minivan was breaking down and needed a lot of repair work done according to a Direct Relief press release.
The van's issues have been getting in the way of her volunteer work at Direct Relief, where she has offered her assistance for the last 40 years.
The 105-year-old has been driving for the last 86 years and has never had an accident, nor has she had a parking or moving violation. She even recently renewed her driver's license this past January after easily passing her test according to the press release.
The Santa Barbara resident has been driving since she was 19 and learned to drive on a Ford Model T. She's been featured on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and "Access Hollywood Live."
As the oldest Facebook user registered on the social media site, her 105th birthday wish was to get 105,000 people to like Direct Relief's Facebook page.
The humanitarian organization set up a virtual birthday cake where those who liked the page on her birthday could lite one candle according to the press release.
