Ford Recalls 33,021 C-Max Hybrids Over Roof Issue

Ford is recalling 33,021 C-Max hybrid vehicles because the vehicles may not be equipped with optional panoramic roof panels.

Models involved in the recall were produced from Jan. 19, 2012 through June 25, 2013 according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

C-Max hybrids with panoramic glass roofs are not involved in the recall.

The NHTSA found the issue during vehicle testing and noted the vehicle "exceeded a head injury criteria requirement."

No injuries or crashes have been reported to Ford relating to the issue.

Ford will begin notifying owners of the recall in August according to the NHTSA.

Dealers are being instructed to install additional energy absorbing material between the vehicle's headliner and roof.

C-Max owners with more questions can contact the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236.
