1,000-HP Galpin Ford GTR1 Will Debut During Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

A 1,000-hp Galpin Ford GTR1 will debut at the Quail Lodge during the annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance weekend.

The new vehicle will be unveiled on August 15 at "The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering," before being taken to Pebble Beach concept lawn on August 18 according to Ford.

The GTR1 was designed based on the Ford GT " as an interpretation of what the GT may have looked and performed like had it continued its evolution," said Galpin Auto Sports according to Edmunds.

The vehicle is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 5.4-liter V8 engine with a top speed of 225 mph.

Other features include an all-aluminum body that's 5 inches wider than the Ford GT. Pirelli P-Zero tires, 20-inch forged aluminum knock-off wheels, carbon-fiber accents and six-piston brakes with carbon rotors are also standard according to Edmunds.

Two bodies will be made available to interested customers: aluminum and carbon-fiber.

A limited amount of the GTR1 will be made available to the public.

Pricing has not been revealed as of press time. Make sure to check back next month to find out more about the new vehicle.
