New Corvette Stingray Arrives in Europe For Quality Tests (VIDEO)

The new Corvette Stingray has arrived in Europe and will undergo GM's standard quality control program before going on sale in late 2013.

The new vehicle will go up against a number of different European sports cars, and GM wants to make sure the Stingray is up for the challenge.

The Stingray will be put through a couple of test drives by GM's technical experts this week according to automaker who announced the news during a press conference broadcasted on YouTube.

Patrick Hermann, the technical manager for Chevrolet Europe, said that his team will bring the new sports car to France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland over the next few months.

"Corvette is one of the famed names in automotive history and the new Stingray is the most advanced and capable standard model yet," Herman said. "Driving and testing this car is definitely one of the most interesting aspects of my job."

The Corvette will be tested and prepped in a number of different ways, like having its navigation system adjusted for European roads.

Chevy has said that it'll be marketing the new vehicle to those who have driven luxury sport cars like different Ferrari and Porsche models.

The Stingray is set to go on sale in Europe before the new year for a starting price of around $90,000.

Herman's observations will be uploaded through posts, images, and video on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
