Danica Patrick Wrecks Boyfriend’s Car at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (VIDEO)

NASCAR Sprint Cup rookie Danica Patrick caused a three-car crash in the Camping World RV Sales 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 14, effectively knocking out Travis Kvapil and her boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. from the race.

When Patrick checked up on a late restart, she turned sideways and hit the back of her fellow Sprint Cup rookie's car. Stenhouse then shot up the track quickly and hit Kvapil, taking him out of the race as well.

"We were all bunched up on those restarts," Patrick said in a press statement after the race. "I'm not sure if I misjudged the braking zone or if they stopped really quick in front of me. It felt like they stopped really quick. I tried to stop myself to keep from getting in the back of anyone, but I got sideways when I tried to do that.

"Unfortunately, I took people with me."

Patrick finished 37th and only completed 237 laps in the race. Stenhouse finished 34th.

This is hardly the first time the couple have been involved in a crash. Back in May Stenhouse hit Patrick at the Coca-Cola 600.

"I'm really sorry," Patrick said in a press statement. "At the end of the day it was me that started it, so I'm really sorry."

Stenhouse was calm after the race while he discussed what happened before and after the crash.

"I haven't seen a replay of what happened," said Stenhouse according to USA Today. "Scott (crew chief Scott Graves) said the 10 (Patrick) might have gotten into, I don't know if she got into me or the 93 (Kvapil), somebody. I thought it was the 93. It's not the first time you get crashed on accident. I've crashed people on accident, as well. It's part of it."

Brian Vickers won the race driving the No. 55 Aaron's Toyota, ending a winless streak dating back to 2009.
